A
Fresh Approach to Advent this year ...
What do you most
want to celebrate in the rush of the
Christmas season?
|
Isn't
it easy to lose
sight of Christ in the chaos of Christmas?
Imagine
if you could take a break from the
busyness ...
Make
rich memories with your children ... And
best of all ...
Open
your children's eyes to the reality of
Christ's birth!
Now I
know you're busy but ...
What if I
showed you a simple way of using resources you already own, to unlock
learning you'll be amazed by, during the season of Advent?
Learning
that would not only open a world to your
children about
CHRISTMAS ... but also about ART ...
| You've
really got me thinking about the lack of art education in our
home. You have some wonderful ideas I had not
thought of
which are easy to implement and will help us teach the true Christmas
story and art! Yahoo!

| WOW!
What a great little book! I am amazed at the wealth of information
there is and it's not wordy or complicated. I can't wait to use these
ideas with my children this coming Advent season.
It makes you
think about art in a whole new light

"But
I've always struggled
to include art in my homeschool!"
Last year over 1500
homeschool parents like you answered our survey about
their greatest challenge teaching art at home.
The number ONE issue we
found was (and if this is you, be encouraged that
you're not
alone!)
No
one
taught ME art ... so
how am I
supposed to teach MY
CHILDREN?!
After over ten years of
searching I've found some grace-filled answers, and a way of teaching
art that is so painless ... and do-able ... You
know how it is once you hear something and think ... why didn't anyone
tell me that before?!
Using
ARTFUL ADVENT! will start you on the road to confidence and success
with art in your homeschool.
| I will be homeschooling
for the first time next year and I truly appreciate the thought
provoking applications you've given me for "art class."

I just
finished reading
Artful Advent. I must tell you that I was very pleased and amazed. You
made it so easy to "do" art. Rather than being a dry general piece on
art, it was event oriented, and one of my favorite events, I might
add. And it was actually doable.
We live in a very limited space in a tiny RV. there is no room to "do"
art other than some simple coloring of pictures. I so appreciate the
ideas given here to use something as simple as ... [details edited
out!]. You put the information all
together in a condensed format that is easy to read and easy to use.
I also appreciate all the links and the checklists you made available.
Thank you so much!

- Ideas
you can apply all year - finally
get art
into your homeschool!
- Specific
questions to ask - that
teach your
child to look carefully ... with no guess work for you.
- The
best LIVING books - you
may own many of
them but you'll be amazed what you can teach from them!
| You have
given me lots of ideas on how to use the beautiful art books we do
have. While we look at illustrations in books, I don't always know how
to direct a conversation about the picture with my children.
I like art,
but I LOVE books, so I really
appreciate the book recommendations. Thanks again for adding pleasure
to my busy day.

I have been in an art
"rut" lately. My seven-year-old son has such a fondness for
fine art and I'm always looking for ways to keep that fire
burning. Artful Advent! pulled me out of my rut, especially
with your suggestions under "Investigative Journalism" as well as the
"Checklist of Art Media". Thank you, Michelle!

- The
greatest resource for explaining the story of
Christmas - at
your fingertips. I'll show you where!
- Hands-on
learning too - that
enhances your
understanding of the season.
- Live
links to artists' websites - Let
them
show your children how they created their pictures.
| One
thing I liked was the breakdown by age. This saves me time and energy
getting all my children involved in something they will enjoy.
This book is
very informative and gave me
resources I didn't know about. I am a mixed media and book artist who
is always looking for ways to incorporate art into our home education.
Thanks for
the terrific resource.

Advent! book yesterday, and I really wanted to say
"Thank You!" I'm a homeschooling mom who is tired of using
textbooks and
longing to begin teaching my kids using living books! As part
of that
endeavor, I want to incorporate the beauty of art into our
day.
Your Artful Advent! book brought up so many good ideas!! I
also appreciate your resource lists and Internet links to get me
started! I finally think I can "do art"
now! I look forward to reading your Art of Seeing book too!

| What a
lovely publication! You wrote that for people just like me. I don't
have an artistic bone in my body. Nor do I have very much knowledge of
art history, the masters, etc. Artful Advent was incredibly helpful.
